About the cookbook

The solution to micronutrient deficiencies, particularly among women of child bearing age and children under five years, lies in consumption of small fishes such as mukene. Small fishes contain micronutrients such as iron, zinc, calcium and vitamins as well as fatty acids particularly omega-3 and 6.  Regular consumption of fish therefore helps in alleviating, anemia, stunting and wasting in children as well as reducing the risk of heart diseases.

The Cookbook was developed by the NutriFish project, funded by ACIAR, Australia and Canada’s IDRC
